Dear Abby: Conflicting loves and professional ethics collide
A reader questions a husband who admits relations with a young patient and professed love for both wife and lover. Abby advises the doctor to seek treatment, halt practice until rehabilitated, and the wife to stay if he seeks help. Other letters complain about etiquette failures, bragging neighbors, and a request for a maturity definition.

Declarer Applies Super Safety Play To Secure 12 Tricks
In a bridge hand featuring IRA G Corr Jk as captain, declarer focuses on the contract rather than potential grand slam prospects. After West ruffs and leads the last trump, he uses a low diamond to execute a super safety play, guaranteeing 12 tricks by preserving two remaining trumps in dummy to ruff the small diamonds, while later cashing the diamond king. The piece notes the distinction between making 12 tricks in a small slam versus a grand slam and cautions that going down on the hand reflects misplacement of emphasis and choice of contract.
