In a Gallup Poll released Wednesday President Richard Nixon led the field as the most admired man, ahead of Rev. Billy Graham and former President Harry Truman who died Tuesday but was alive when the survey was taken on December 1. Nixon widened his margin over past years as Graham remained second. Truman has ranked among the top 10 in 22 of 27 surveys since 1940. Henry Kissinger, Edward Kennedy, George Wallace, Spiro Agnew, Pope Paul VI, Mrs. McGovern, and Willy Brandt also ranked highly.

Marge Champion filed for divorce from her husband of 24 years in Santa Monica Superior Court citing irreconcilable differences.
