Festivals of Lights unites Christians and Jews in Seal Beach
A joint Christmas Hanukkah celebration at the Seal Beach Community Center drew over 200 seniors. Leisure World resident Max Dreyer created the event, titled Festivals of Lights, funded by the MORE Nutrition Project at Long Beach State University. The program serves seniors in Lakewood, Hawaiian Gardens and Seal Beach, offering meals and outreach. Contributions came from the Chamber of Commerce, four local savings and loan associations, and gifts donated by the community. Hannaford provided the tree, while Jack Osteen oversaw decorations.
