Teens Help Rescue Woman From Cliff Plunge
In Santa Monica canyon near Mulholland Drive a car plunged 150 feet off a steep embankment. Teens Sam Kagan Robert Derman Donna Schidkraul and Jerry Steiner held the vehicle to prevent further fall while Steve Yamshon and John Marcos summoned aid. Firefighters retrieved Judy Lee Christiansen who was reported in satisfactory condition.

Thunderbirds crash near Nellis Air Force Base kills two pilots
Two members of the Thunderbirds precision flying team died when their I 4 jet crashed on a dry desert lake north of Nellis AFB Nevada. Capt Kerry D Bolt 80 from Latchbock Texas and Sgt Charles Hy Lynn 40 from Mobile Alabama were aboard. The aircraft burst into flames after a routine check and went down about 80 miles from their base.
