Douglas Engineers OK Three year Best Ever Contract
More than 6,000 engineers at Douglas Aircraft Co in Long Beach and three other sites begin pay increases today after an $18.25 million three year contract won by the Southern California Professional Engineering Association The settlement includes fringe benefits and a 1.43 per hour rise over three years with first raise taking effect now and further increases in December 1969 and December 1970 The agreement covers engineers at Long Beach Astronautics West Huntington Beach Santa Monica and Culver City and was ratified by 78 percent of the bargaining unit including full health and retirement enhancements and a 10th paid holiday and a fourth week of vacation for long service employees
