Weather calm amid wild country ends tense week
Weather in the nation grew calmer after snow was forecast for the northern Rockies to the northern Plains. Oregon experienced a Thursday storm ditching power to about 21,400 residents and flooding areas as winds reached eight mph. Washington faced scattered outages from high winds as warnings were lifted at night. Travelers faced ice on roads in northern Minnesota and North Dakota with rain in other regions. Temperatures elsewhere showed springlike readings from Florida to Colorado, including record highs in several cities. In a separate note, Lucas faces legal scrutiny as witnesses emerge in an unrelated case, with defense claiming witness statements are untruthful and potential malicious prosecution.
