Lockheed Sunnyvale vote OKd by union leaders

A federal judge granted a preliminary injunction stopping the Grand Lodge of the IAM AWs from interfering with locals 2228 and 2236 in Sunnyvale and Santa Cruz who had approved a contract with Lockheed Missiles and Space. The ruling directs the national leadership to end trusteeship and bars officials from pressuring workers who wish to return to their jobs. The decision affects about 4,000 workers at the two Northern California sites and stems from the locals approving the agreement despite a broader strike.
