UPI reports John Scali United Nations envoy will not be released from St Josephs Hospital until Thursday. A hospital spokesman said he would stay a few days longer than planned while arrangements are made to move into a friends house in Phoenix for several weeks. Scali is recovering from open heart surgery performed February 20.

Alcohol cost to county tops 139 million in 1972 report
A county report says alcoholism and drinking problems cost taxpayers more than 139 million dollars in 1972. It notes costs rose from 40 million in 1963 to the present, with health services rehabilitation and treatment totaling 25.4 million and district attorney and welfare expenses driving most of the figure.
