Hughes witnesses testify to avoid contempt action
The Hughes team of at least 13 employees met with Senate Watergate investigators to address possible contempt charges. They argued against private testimony, while the committee pursued questions on a $100,000 payment to Charles G. Rebozo and the use of the funds for Nixon’s 1972 re election campaign.
