Camping trip ends with two dead as tree collapses
A 60 foot oak toppled onto a tent during a family outing near Lake Tulloch. James McMichael and his daughter Cynthia Ann were killed. McMichael's wife Linda Ann and Donna Wetmore were seriously injured along with Elizabeth Ann Wetmore. Seven others escaped unharmed as firefighters freed victims from the trunk. Authorities cited strong winds that uprooted the tree on a hillside about 45 feet from the camp.
