Chou En-lai eyes broad talks with Nixon on Asia threats
Premier Chou En-lai outlines in a five hour interview prepared for publication that he will discuss with President Nixon before May a wide range of world problems. He warns of Japan’s militarism and Soviet power, notes China’s underground defenses, and advocates direct talks to ease tensions without immediate settlement. He stresses no private deals with Kissinger and backs continued support for opposing U S policy in Indochina.
