McCord Set for Early Release After Sentence Cut

James W. McCord Jr will be eligible for release next month as Judge Serica cut his one to five year term to four months in the Watergate case. McCord aided the Watergate inquiry and said he is very grateful for the action. He is serving at Allenwood camp after entering prison March 21.

Haldeman bid to bar suit fails

A federal judge denied defense motions to dismiss a 31.2 million damage suit against former White House aide Haldeman. Judge James McMillan cleared the way for testimony and evidence by defendants as 19 young plaintiffs claim they were illegally excluded from a Billy Graham rally on Oct 15, 1971 attended by former President Nixon. The court also removed the National Veterans of Foreign Wars from the titling action.

Seven CMA Missionaries Reported Safe in Saigon

Seven CMA missionaries long missing in Vietnam for six weeks are now reported safe in Saigon. The group includes Betty Mitchell of Ellensburg Washington and Dr and Mrs Richard Phillips both linguists, with Norman Johnson and John Miller families among others.

California bill ends gender limits on newspaper sales

Sacramento AP reports Gov. Brown signed bills repealing a long standing law that barred girls under 14 from street newspaper selling and another restricting employment of messenger girls. The measures, authored by Assemblyman Robert Badham of Newport Beach, move to treat girls the same as boys in these jobs.
