Clocktower Winder Keeps Cavell County Time Honored Figure
Alvin Kidd, a 68 year old watch repairman, tends the Cabell County Courthouse clock atop the tower in Huntington. He climbs three ladders to wind the 1880s E Howard Co. clock, claims it is among the largest within 2300 miles, and says it may run 400 years with proper care.
