Long Beach mummy identified as Oklahoma outlaw Elmer McCurdy

Forensic osteologists Clyde Snow and Judy Suchey at the Los Angeles County coroner’s office positively identified the Long Beach wax-like mummy as Elmer McCurdy, a 1911 train robber and killer. McCurdy, age 32, was long believed to be a desperado, with a roguish history including a Colorado murder and a failed payroll robbery. He will be buried in Guthrie in Boot Hill, alongside other condemned figures, in a quiet, dignified interment.
