Kaiser care strike called for Monday

A strike by 6,100 Southern California Kaiser workers is planned for Monday as negotiations with Kaiser officials continue over a contract that expired March 31. Local 399 seeks a two year deal with 26 percent wage increase, job reclassifications, sick leave, pension improvements and a cost of living clause. Five Kaiser facilities in Southern California and 14 outlying offices are involved.

SCRTD Clerks Reach Tentative Labor Contract

An SCRTD spokesman said a tentative agreement with 480 Brotherhood of Railway Airline and Steamship Clerks members was reached on a new contract. It will take effect if ratified by the union membership and the SCRTD Board of Directors. Details were not disclosed.
