Laguna Brothers slain in San Diego apartments tied to quiet lives
Police hunted for a motive in the slayings of Ray Laguna and his brother Jesse Laguna, unemployed aircraft worker and gardener who billed themselves as the Laguna Brothers. The brothers, ages 21 and 23, were found in their Linda Vista apartment with five .25 caliber shell casings nearby. Neighbors reported loud stereo music for two days and the scene suggested a ransack, though the front door remained intact. Acquaintances said they performed as singers at local events in San Diego.
