Little Rock March 20 No information is available on the new manager for the Hotel Marion. Hermanalin president of Marion Oil Company and Bank of Commerce leader is away in search of a successor to J F Letton. Wins will soon be manager for the Hotel Bentley at Vexandris. Mr Kahn spent days in New Orleans after leaving here and will tour the east before returning. Local interest says no contract yet but signing of a new manager is expected soon.

Major James K. Thompson of the 16th Infantry was to inspect the military company at this place today but could not arrive due to poor railroad connections. Col. B. Gordon and Capt. B. R. Oastler conducted the inspection at 11 o clock. Thompson was in Eldorado yesterday inspecting the company there and will arrive tonight. The troops acquitted themselves admirably.

Death of Mr. James T. Gossett in Little Rock
News of the death of James T. Gossett from heart failure at Little Rock where he had visited his daughter Mrs. Horton. He died about 9 PM last night and was brought home today for funeral arrangements. Funeral is set for 9:30 AM tomorrow at the Cumberland Presbyterian church conducted by Rev. H. M. McLain. He leaves a wife and several unspecified heirs.

Funeral services will be held in Prescott with interment at DeAnn Cemetery. James T. Gossett born November 17 in Mississippi moved to Arkansas circa 1870. He helped survey lands for the M R Ry, opened a store in Bough ton, joined the Cumberland Presbyterian church, and served as elder. Surviving spouses are Fedora Hatley Gossett and Mollie Adair Gossett, with son Adair.

A Marshal took two African American men caught near Emmet to Philadelphia last night. One, the smaller, proved to be wanted. The man in the tussle with Marshal Hawkins dropped his gun and was clubbed by several assailants who fled into the darkness.

Superintendent Doyne to Resign From Arkansas Post
State Superintendent J r Doyne will resign to become president of the new State Normal School at Conway and enter July 1. His unexpired term ends November 1, 1908, with a successor to be appointed to serve about four months.
