Davis Speaks at Perryville Before Booneville Trip

United States Senator Jeff Davis addressed supporters at Perryville amid a campaign swing, challenging Prosecuting Attorney Rhoton to indict him and vowing punishment for boodlers if armed with Rhoton’s information. Moonlight Pleasure Party At Main Spring

A moonlit picnic and supper last evening near Main Spring brought great delight to a dozen couples. Chaperoned by Mr. and Mrs. Will Waller, the event honored visiting girls and featured an ideal evening with silvery moonlight. Attending were Estelle Brown Camden with Duncan McRae, Linnie Burrow Morriston with W. D. Hatley, Marion Waller with Ernest Stainton, Minnie Scanlin Bee Branch with Art Warmack, Dorothy Briggs Little Rock with Floyd Denman, Grace Teal, Blanch Milburn with Howard Powell, Mary Milburn with Pomeroy Whitten, Edna Rudolph with F. & Murrah, and Cleone Rudolph with John Brown.

Polish immigrant joins city lodging and campaigns for Stone

The distinguished native of Poland arrived Monday and stays at the Hotel Marion. United States Senator Jeff Davis will campaign for Senator W. J. Stone in Missouri next summer, delivering six speeches in the region. Davis accepted the invitation and will also speak in Portsmouth on April 28, in Minneapolis on July 4, in Cincinnati, and at the National Convention in Denver this summer.

Willie Hatley proud of a new picture. Five miles of concrete sidewalk contracted for town. J M Livingston rents a farm near town and plants a crop.

Narrow escape as wagon wheel misses boy near Mathis home

A 10 year old son of H B Mathis was run over by a loaded wagon yesterday at about 4 pm but escaped serious harm. The boy, returning from school east of town, slipped and fell. the hind wheel passed over his stomach yet he rose unharmed and walked home. Miss Hannah Bennis departed on the cannon ball for Texarkana to return later today.
