Last night the stockholders met at Sam O Logan's office to review architect plans for a hotel building. No final decision was made, the building committee to judge the plans, with $21,000 subscribed including $4,000 on grounds and $1,000 for grounds improvement, leaving $16,000 for a building.
The building committee postponed final plans for the hotel cost, awaiting input from other company members and possible funding. Despite this, officials emphasize the hotel will be erected, with new plans or borrowing possible. deliberation and time are expected.
Capital stock authorized five hundred thousand dollars and subscribed two hundred thousand dollars. Small accounts as well as large ones are appreciated by us. Our customers, re business done, receive every courtesy, and we extend every accommodation consistent with safe banking.
June 27 report from Greenwood notes Gov. Little's condition declined with reduced appetite and nervousness though doctors say not seriously weakened. In a separate item, Charles B. Foster of Hope wed Miss Nancy Gregory Lightle at the Lightle residence and left for a bridal tour in the East.
Prescott business owners plan Fourth of July activities led by local merchants. Shops will stay open and streets host a parade and salute to the nation, with residents urged to participate in civic events.
A petition circulated by Dan Pittman gathers Prescott merchants agreeing to close their stores the entire Fourth of July. Signatories include Prescott Hardware Co J B Jordan Hitt Bros Grocery Co Ozan Mercantile Co Bank of Prescott Citizens Bank Munn & Duke and many others. Clide Buchanan of the Railway Mail Service is visiting Prescott.
