State Fair to crown seven district Queens in Arkansas
The State Fair Association will pay all expenses for the most popular lady from each of Arkansas seven congressional districts to attend the State Fair. Expenses cover transportation, hotel, carriage, receptions, and hosting duties during a ten day event. The Womens Federated Clubs support the effort and urge clubs to nominate suitable district ladies for the queen contest.

Duel on public road ends with Schultz capture near Arkadelphia
Deputy Sheriff Golden captured an armed man named Schultz after a pistol duel on a public road about a mile from Arkadelphia. Schultz is said to be wanted in Texas on a cattle theft charge. An accompanying man escaped.

Cornerstone Laid For New Methodist Church In Gurdon
The cornerstone of Gurdon's new Methodist church was laid during the district conference morning session on June 28. Items placed inside included a Bible, Methodist Hymnal, Christian Advocate, Gordon Times, and rolls of church and Sunday School members. N P O'Neal, builder, set the stone as Dr J B Godbey delivered an address and Rev James Thomas led a bank offering that raised $200 for the Woman's Home.
