Navy summer school at Great Lakes for Arkansas youths
The Navy Department will open a six week summer school at Great Lakes Illinois starting July 15 for boys aged 16 to 20. Arkansas has a quota of 28 pupils with pay of 33 dollars a month and free transport home. No Navy obligation after the course though temporary Naval Reserve enrollment occurs. Applicants must pass physical and mental exams at the Little Rock recruiting station.

Villa Charged With Murder by Bandit Villa
Mexico City reports three hundred camp followers of government forces were killed by orders of Francisco Villa. Jacinto Trueba, a Chihuahua merchant, quoted in El Democrata, says Villa captured the women near Parral and Jiminez and had them lined up for review to expose soldiers masquerading. One woman fired twice but missed. Villa then ordered all women herded and shot.
