Chancery Judge Jas D. Shaver reconvened the Mena court this morning after a four day vacation and disposed of several cases. Pearl Nash vs W C Nash for divorce was dismissed at plaintiff cost. J M Milburn case continued. Cecil vs Nancy divorce dismissed of equity. Garner vs Cora Garner divorce granted with child custody to the plaintiff. W W Rice vs American Type Founders Co foreclosure of lien and sale ordered. J Cecil ordered to make sale. Court will meet again this afternoon and may adjourn next week.

Personal clash in Nevada County court over Picayune matter
In chancery court Judge C. C. Hamby and Dr. W. W. Rice clashed briefly during the Nevada County Picayune stock dispute. Hamby read an answer alleging fraud while Rice, president of the publishing company, challenged the statement. Friends separated the two. no serious injuries reported.

Demurrer Overruled in Urquhardt Estate Case

This morning about 9 o'clock Mr. Smith and RE W Dougan were repairing the runway at the Ozan mill. While Smith raised a sledge hammer to strike, it struck an obstruction.

Man Struck By Overhead Object Injured In Fall
An overhead object deflected from its course struck Mr Dougan on the forehead and knocked him senseless. Medical aid was given, he regained consciousness in two or three hours, and doctors hope the skull was not fractured.
Normal Board Outlines Plans for Arkansas White Teacher School
The State Normal Board, created by the legislature to establish a normal school in Arkansas for white teachers, met in the Senate chamber and organized. J J Doyne presided, Otis T Wingo elected vice chairman, B W Torreyson secretary. An adjournment was set for June 24 to hear propositions from towns seeking the school. The State Board of Charities re-elected Miss Laura Cantley as assistant matron at the deaf mute institute. Charlie Tompkins and Henry Moore are serving in Garland Creek near Boughton.

Property Owners to Grade East Second Street
East Second Street property owners have raised funds to grade the street from the courthouse corner to the corporation line south. The work will begin immediately, paid entirely by subscriptions, with the town providing free use of its road machine. Other streets may follow later.

Will Repair the Levee After Inspection
County Judge A. M. Denman and Road Overseer J. E. Horne inspected the Steele Bridge levee east of town to assess repairs. The judge ordered rebuilding washed away bridges filling holes and ensuring a safe passage through the Carouse bottom for travelers.
