Penitentiary Board Opens Cotton Bids for Lincoln County Farm
Arkansas Penitentiary officials report no bids or replies from Memphis cotton dealers after sending samples of 1100 bales to Tennessee factors. Superintendent James A. Pitcock will visit the convict farm next week to plan for the year, while convicts clear new land and levee work resumes when weather permits.

P C Hamilton Dies at 77 in Prescott After Long Illness
P C Hamilton, a longtime Prescott resident and respected citizen, died after a lagrippe illness. He was 77 and had deep ties to the town’s religious and social life. Funeral at the Methodist church with Masonic honors, burial in the town cemetery he helped deed in 1880.
