Legion Observes Memorial Day in Posen Community
American Legion Post 990 of Posen marks Memorial Day with a morning assembly at the Village Hall followed by a Mass at St Stanislaus Church and a parade to the Park at 143rd and Campbell Ave for flagpole ceremonies. Local groups invited. refreshments after. Post Commander Clem Mikrut leads the event and urges broad participation.

Posen Volunteer Fire Department plans a house to house canvass June 7 8 and 9 to sell raffle books for the Fiesta June 25 26 and 27 1965. Donors of 2 dollars receive a souvenir and the department phone number for emergencies. Proceeds fund equipment updates for the fire department.
