Fragmentary report notes John T Miller, a veteran market street dealer, has sold out in Portsmouth and plans retirement. A figure on Market beers is mentioned, with a supposed fiquior operation at Chillicothe. The item hints at peace and employment as Miller retires from wholesale and retail trade.
The obituary notes the death of the oldest triplet born December 1794 in Albemarle County Virginia. Casira Mariah and Josiah Locke are named. Mrs Taylor served as a nurse in the Locke family. The family later moved to this city. Mrs Goins recalls their mother was a licensed midwife for over seventy years. She joined Findlay Street Baptist Church upon moving to Portsmouth. Funeral held this afternoon with Rev McPheeters officiating.

Fon Wm Wadsworth and Edward Coulton filed two petitions in common court today for removal of the case of Thomas G McKell against the C&O railway to the circuit court of the United States. They claim the interested parties are citizens of different states and posted a $1000 bond with H T, A J Vannon, and Simon Jabold as sureties.
John Thatcher of Odle Creek near the West Side was found dead in the yard at his home Monday. He lived with his mother, was unmarried, and suffered for ten years. He told his mother he would cut wood and was gone a while before being found face down. Coroner Edwards said jurisdiction rests with the territory. He leaves a brother and two sisters. Funeral set for Wednesday afternoon at Walmsleyville Adams County cemetery.
In Rabbi Raisin’s absence this Friday evening the pulpit at the Jewish temple will be occupied by Dr Maurice Lefkowitz of Hebrew Union College Cincinnati He holds a Ph D from the University of Bern Switzerland and is a classmate of Rabbi Raisin at the Hebrew Union College Cincinnati
Pers Shields, formerly Adams, disappeared Monday afternoon after a quarrel with her husband. Last seen crossing the Scioto bridge toward the towpath. authorities and her brother searched the West Side area with no results. Her threats of self harm were reported to acquaintances in the First ward.
Maurice Sullivan of Pittsburg Pai, formerly Buena Vista resident, is visiting his cousin Mrs. Patrick Mullahy on West Third Street. Sullivan endured a nine week siege of typhoid fever and is home for his health.

Attorneys Oscar W. Newman and Henry Bannon conducted depositions in Oak Hill on the damage suit filed by the Korn estate against the Chesapeake and Ohio railroad. Korn, found dead beside railroad tracks at South Portsmouth years ago after being put off a train, his relatives blame exposure. Korn formerly ran a drug business in Oak Hill and behaved oddly during his stay. The case is slated for trial in the United States court at Covington soon.

Squire D R Edwards of Olive Furnace reported in Tointon that a B and O survey to the Black Fork Coal company's property shows five mineral rich sections in Washington township. The company, capitalized at 200000 dollars, plans large developments soon and is controlled by Portsmouth citizens.
J W Dorteh of Fullerton Kentucky died after a brief illness aged 36 leaving a wife and five children. Funeral services will be held Wednesday from Bennetts Chapel.
The East End small-pox cases mentioned days ago are improving. It is expected that Sanitary Officer Ro Yare will remove the placards tonight and discharge the cases.
