Two Arrested in Tavern Raid on Route 54 West Side

State inspectors and a deputy sheriff raided a tavern on Route 54 West Side. Five arrests were made and liquor confiscated including Whitby and Inex. Operator Howard Crayoratt, 28, charged with procuring liquor for sale. waitress Geraldine Frances Murnzen, 22, charged with sale of liquor. Both pleaded guilty and fined $100 plus costs. Guns of foreign make found. referred to Federal government for registration check. About 8 customers detained during the raid conducted around 2 am by Inspectors Donwld Van Vern and Hilderbrandt, with Deputy Sheriff Carl Lindner. liquor reportedly sold at nine cents a drink, six fifth cabins, and six cabins available.

Woman Crash Victim Naomi Hicks In Huntington Collision

Naomi Hicks a 35 year old woman of Huntington suffered bruising to her right arm after a collision at Third and Sintensts. She rode in a car driven by Margaret Haggerston 27 of Huntington and she went home after the crash. The other driver Joseph R Scott 17 of Blue Creek was southbound on Linton Street and failed to see the approaching auto on Third Street.

Narrow Escape in Two Collisions at Ninth Findlay

Four people escaped injuries after two separate crashes near Ninth and Findlay streets Sunday morning. Police report driver William H. Clark 67 of Bethel 78 was eastbound on Ninth when another vehicle driven by Clark C. Hertzler 818 Ninth st collided near the Findlay street underpass. Minor injuries were not recorded, but two other drivers were cited for traffic violations and others faced court penalties. State patrol logged multiple incidents including Route 19a and Route 338 collisions with slight damage and several arrests for drunk driving or suspended licenses.

Two cars collide injuring Webb child near Little Bear Creek

Deputy Roy Leach reports a sidewipe on Little Bear Creek during an early evening crash that left Hervéco Webb with a double leg fracture as Thomas Sturgill 21 faces charges for leaving the scene and reckless driving. Car collision injures two. minor damage reported

Police report a Sunday morning minor accident along Highland Bend Road near 161 Larsdel. Cecil Brawn, 41, of Serotovitle, struck a parked car. Edward Shope, 58, of Bouly Webster, also involved. Both vehicles showed slight damage amid an empty automobile transport note.

Fatal shooting follows domestic dispute in Maine

Mel. dane Ethier, 24, of New England South Warfswell Me, died after his wife, Janelle Pierce Ethier, 24, shot herself in the head during an argument over dishwashing duties.
