The 10th Ohio General Assembly finished its day at 2:45 a.m. EST after approving a new school subsidy distribution method. Beginning Oct 1 1956 aid will be based on classroom teacher units of 30 pupils. Two year cost estimated at 279.7 million dollars starting July 1.

Laura Rebecca Payne four months old suffered a skull fracture after an automobile struck the mother and child on Duis Street in Wheelersburg. The infant was rushed to Children’s Hospital Columbus by Harrison ambulance with father Carlos Payne nearby. The mother Georgia Rebecca Payne received minor injuries and was treated at Mercy Hospital then taken to Columbus by private car due to anxiety.
