Nine Persons Are Injured In Auto Crashes
Nine people were injured in Greater Portsmouth area auto accidents over the weekend. Two Wheelersburg motorcycle riders, Wesley Cook and James Caldwell, suffered leg fractures and facial injuries when their bike collided with a car near St. Peter Church. Four others were hurt Sunday noon on Turkey Foot Road 34 miles east of Route 148 amid a head on crash. Mary Messer and her daughter Beverly Ann, plus Eugene Fitch and Shirley Went, sustained various injuries and were driven to Mercy Hospital by Harrison ambulances. Patrol reports cite a westbound rider and an eastbound driver as the collision’s opposing directions.
