The Atomic Energy Labor Management Relations Panel wrapped a two day hearing on the Waverly Atomic Plant contract dispute in Columbus Ohio. The panel will issue non binding recommendations to Local 3689 of the Oil Chemical and Atomic Workers Union and Goodyear Corp. which runs the Waverly plant for the Atomic Energy Commission. The union struck May 1 and returned May 20 to allow the panel to hear both sides. The panel is not part of the FMCS and will issue recommendations from Washington after reviewing positions. The union objected to fringe benefits and rejected the company money offer in a new contract.
