Peebles Boy Killed Chasing Rabbit With .22 Rifle

Franklin Wallace 21 died at Adams County Hospital from a self inflicted head wound after chasing a rabbit into a culvert with neighbor Bobby Barrett 14. Wallace stuck his head down the culvert and the rifle discharged. Barrett was at the other end. He was born Feb 7, 1985 in Panville W Va and is survived by parents five brothers and four sisters. 12 year old confesses to strangling Kathryn Ruoff

A 12 year old boy, taken from a picnic bus, confessed to police Sunday night to the strangulation slaying of 44-year old Kathryn Ruoff. The victim, daughter of State Rep. Richard Ruoff, was found under floorboards in an old garage after she went missing Saturday. Also, Chester Huckworth, 25, of Rush, injured in a two car crash at Portsmouth Speedway and treated at Portsmouth General Hospital.

Southern Democrats urged to stay in party over splinter moves

Sen. George DiGa said a Southern split or third party move would place the party in personal crisis. He advised Gov. Father Of 6 Dies In Route 140 Crash Near Astley's Corner

Henry H. Dingess, 29, of Wheelersburg Rt. 1, was killed in a one car crash on Route 140 near Astley's Corner. He left six children and was a Norfolk & Western Railway laborer. The Scioto County toll rose to 15 for the year. Dingess died from a crushed skull after his car veered off the road and rolled over. Coroner's report and funeral arrangements noted.
