Portsmouth faced downed trees, flooded streets, and widespread damage as the storm raged about 8:30 p.m. Residents reported basement flooding and drainage pleas to officials. A large tree felled near the state patrol outpost on Scioto Trail, plus damage to a Greenlawn cemetery tree and a cottage roof at 1113 Eighth St, were noted. A tree blocked traffic at Bond Street School. city crews worked through Sunday to clear debris.
