Two civilians killed in Wheelersburg plane crash
A civilian owned two seat plane piloted by Emerson F. Porter of Kenton crashed east of Wheelersburg late Friday night killing Porter and Marine Pvt. Donald N. Martin of near Kenton. The crash followed low flight to attract aid as farm families attempted makeshift lighting and signaling.

Five persons were burned, one seriously, when a car driven by Mrs. Marshall H. Stevens collided with an asphalt truck on route 23 near the Albert Herms residence. The Scioto county ration board will resume issuing canning sugar Monday based on pounds per person. John E. Robinson Jr of the district OPA in Cincinnati told local boards to halt once their quota is reached. Scioto has been allotted 169000 pounds for June, and issuance will stop for the rest of the month.
