Special to The Times Ironton June 16 fire damaged the Etna furnace property after starting from a locomotive. The blaze destroyed blacksmith, carpenter and electrical shops and damaged the roof of the engine room. The plant has not operated since 1924. Watchman George Mittendorf reported the blaze at 3 55 p m Firemen fought it until Norfolk Southern crews planned to hose down hot spots.
