Minister Rev Wilson urged sustained enthusiasm during the appeal as the fundraising drive reached 71,000 with 59,542 today and 9,682 yesterday. The total to date is 21,202.25, leaving a balance of 38,339.75 to meet the goal.

State highway patrolmen from the Portsmouth post and Indiana authorities jailed two brothers for theft and arson in the Sedan auto fire. Walter Blanton, 22, faces arson and auto parts theft charges. Lewis Blanton Jr., 18, is charged with auto mobile larceny and was sent back to Muncie. Lewis admitted stealing the sedan after arrest in Ashland and returning to Lucasville.

Sheriff H L Myers announced the 10 week old Haldon Fink missing from Clyde was found dead in Green creek on George Thomson farm near U S Route 20 after an all night search. Federal agents are aiding the investigation. The motive remains unclear and family members are grieving.
Dr. Carl Watson of the Works Progress Administration will meet Scioto County officials in Columbus to seek a local contribution reduction for federal relief projects. Officials report they can only provide 7.7 percent of the 17.4 percent required since May 1 due to limited funds, with a state election considered to raise more funds.
Five drivers were arrested Tuesday after a collision at Fourth and Gay streets. Elzy Mobley, 24, of 3636 Gallia Street New Boston, faces charges of reckless driving and bread peddling without a license. The truck struck Ernest Milligan of 4232 Rhodes Avenue and damaged vehicles belonging to Harold Fultz Jacob Henson and Earl Moore before hitting a fence.
Eric Mayell a British cameraman for an American newsreel was arrested while photographing Japanese barricades at the International bridge. He protested the bridge was international and was taken into a guardhouse by Japanese gendarmes. The British consulate opened a probe.
In Tientsin on June 14 Japanese gendarmes aided by Chinese police blockaded the British and French concessions, cutting off most goods to about 120000 people and sending prices up by about fifty percent. US Marines in the city prepared to safeguard supplies, with orders to wear uniforms to avoid misidentification.

Morton Rosen, 19, a seaman and Bridge’s friend, faced assault and disorderly conduct charges after allegedly leading the mob. he posted $100 bond for grand jury action where he chose a jury trial.
Attorney Chester P. Fitch for Mrs. Virginia Taylor filed a motion for a new trial in common pleas court claiming the jury verdict finding her guilty of second degree manslaughter was against the manifest weight of the evidence. The fatalities involved Mr. and Mrs. William Cordle in a Route 139 crash on January 8.
Miss Louise Rouse aged 28 of St. Albans West Virginia suffered a fractured neck vertebra in a noon Tuesday crash on route 125 a mile west of Friendship. She is hospitalized at Schirrman. The injury is not believed serious. Driver Charles Rouse 45 also of St. Albans, her father, said rain was heavy and the sedan skidded off the road into a field and overturned near the prior Sunday scene where three were injured.
In Berlin on June 14 Herbert Israel Michaels of Hamburg was executed by guillotine after conviction for preparing for high treason.
The federal communications commission asked Congress to grant it more oversight of the telephone sector while softening some far reaching proposals. The agency approved a report after two years of study led by Paul A. Walker, who urged greater review of Bell policies but his central management control idea was not adopted.
Henry Alexander, 21, on the U S Grant bridge in Fullerton, was struck by a late westbound George Washington train as he crossed Main Street with his father. The auto was demolished but he escaped injury. The incident occurred about 6 15 a m as the Chesapeake & Ohio flyer arrived late from South Portsmouth.
