Paris report from AP says Air France fears all hope is lost for most of 51 aboard a C-34 Skymaster that crashed into the sea near Bahrain in the Persian Gulf last night. Survivors include four male passengers, a radio operator, and Chief Pilot Jean Fladek who was seriously injured.
In Southampton England a large 24 passenger helicopter described as the world’s biggest crashed and burned during a test flight nine miles off the runway near Eastleigh Island. The pilot and two passengers were killed and four men and two women remained unidentified. Survivors were being searched for by Air France and Royal Air Force rescue units with cooperation from U S forces.
