Students Enjoy All-School Picnic At Camp Oyo
About 380 students faculty members and friends of Portsmouth Interstate Business College joined the all-school picnic at Camp Oyo Friday after noon Activities included softball volleyball swimming horseshoes tennis and hiking supervised by recreation captains: Richard Wells president Herman Sparks vice president Vera Jean Pasco Lois Compton Gladys Ky and Don Blackburn Co-captains for four teams were Evelys Greenhow Jim Andris Garnett Darst Luther Craig Dorotha Burgess Howard Kirkerdall Ian Dorothy Crull and Douglas White Picnic refreshments were served at 6 p.m. by Alpha Gamma chapter of Alpha Phi and Beta Pi chapter of Phi Theta Pi fraternities Arrangements for food and transportation were made by student council members Gilbert Monroe Belly Harmon Roy Swearingen John Mercer Hill Howard Dorothy Beer and June Powderhill

Kids Day Celebrates With Soap Derby and Fireworks
Forty boys have signed up for the soap derby as part of Kids Day activities led by chairman Herbert Bussa. Winners of the derby and athletic events will receive trophies and a chance to compete in Akron in August. The evening program at Municipal Hallum features local talent and a fireworks display at the stadium after dark, with Charles Clawa promising a show as good as last year.

Rivers Held to Jury on $10,000 Bond in Knife Slashing
West Union reports George Rivers former Adams County deputy sheriff bound over to the Adams County grand jury on a charge of cutting and wounding with intent to kill in the knife slashing of Alva Lewis and his wife Amanda of Long Lick. The couple were severely beaten and taken to Have Wond hospital in Maysville where Mr. Lewis is described as still serious. Rivers appeared before Magistrate W. E. Kincaid, bond set at $10,000, county jail in default of payment.
