One Arrest Made In Drive Launched By State Road Police

Man Sentenced for Smuggling Gun to Prisoners in Columbus
June 12 Columbus Clay Miller, 39, was sentenced to three years in the Ohio Penitentiary for selling a revolver to three convicts for 125 dollars. The weapon was used in an April 28 prison escape by Rufus Deeds Martin Schmidt and Arthur Koontz, who were recaptured eight days later near Lancaster. Miller pleaded guilty to smuggling a gun into the prison for a prisoner.
