Tar State Convention of Volunteer Firemen met in Wooster Ohio on Thursday May 27 with forty six companies represented. Resolutions urged legislature to ease road duty burdens, create favorable laws for volunteers and pledge delegates to back only lawmakers who defend volunteer rights. A county funding resolution passed and next convention slated for Crestline in May 1876. a Wooster firemen tournament was planned for September 1869. Also lists transfers of real estate in Portsmouth Madison and related towns with various sums.
