Five Indicted Over Diamond Theft From GE Plant

Five persons have been indicted in Columbus related to thefts totaling up to 1 million dollars in industrial diamonds stolen from a General Electric plant in Worthington. Robert Eugene Wilson of Columbus is charged with three counts of receiving stolen property. The others include three former plant employees and a private security firm worker. The thefts began January 15, 1970, and continued through March, with 250,000 dollars worth of diamonds hijacked from a truck in Delaware County on April 1, 1970.

Librarians Plan Public Relations Workshop in Greenup

Greenup Kentucky librarians Carolyn Stevens of Flatwoods Public Library and Wanda F Maynard of Greenup County Public Library attended a workshop on library public relations at Prestonburg Community College. A summer reading program for students finishing grades four through seven is planned. An organizational meeting with membership cards issued will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Flatwoods Public Library and at 10 a.m. June 24 at Greenup County Public Library.
