City Schools To Serve Breakfast In Portsmouth System
The Portsmouth city school system will start a breakfast program this fall in all schools to meet state and federal requirements. It will be free, reduced, or regular cost based on income, beginning in September, with about 40 percent of the 2,000 students expected to eat at school. Bus timing and other issues will be addressed during the summer. The board also approved coaching and teaching contracts at EHS and granted resignations of several staff members.

Education Budget Is Presented to Portsmouth Board
The tentative 1978 general fund budget totals 5,438,800 with a public hearing set for July 14.
