Drowning Claims Two Portsmouth Residents Sunday
A 24 year old expectant mother identified as Mrs Kenneth Tucker of 1014 27th St drowned about 7 p.m. below the Scioto River Boat Ramp after being swept into swift current at a sandbar while picnicking with relatives. A 12 year old, Roger Bryan Trapp son of Mr and Mrs Claude D Trapp of 2003 Sixth St drowned shortly after 5 p.m. while swimming in Turkey Creek off Drews Lane. Firemen and bystanders aided in rescue attempts but both victims were pronounced dead. Mrs Tucker leaves a husband and two children, with funeral arrangements under West Funeral Home of Onieda. The Trapp boy leaves six brothers and a sister. funeral at Full Gospel Tabernacle and burial at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The bodies were recovered by local rescue units and coroner confirmation followed.
