Winchester Residents Injured In Car Mishap
Mrs Carrie Hitch cock 38 and her son Billy 15 of Winchester Adams county were injured when a steering gear broke causing their car to plunge over an embankment near Log cabin on the Galena pike. Mrs Hitchcock suffered a wounded right arm and facial cuts while Billy sustained chest injuries two broken ribs and facial cuts. The pair were hospitalized at General hospital while en route to Kermit West Virginia.

Mail delivery in mill halted at Portsmouth works
The Amalgamated Iron, Steel and Tin Workers strike at Portsmouth works led to halting parcel post delivery inside the plant. Willis Hall 33, of Siloam, an employee of Portsmouth works Wheeling Steel Corp, drowned in the Ohio river near Sciotoville. His body recovered within minutes by Alva Nance on a government dredge boat. Firemen resisted, but Hall died from heart trouble found at inquest. He leaves a wife Lena and four children Emma Jane Esther Arlington Della Mae.
