In Winneville Virginia near Taze well Courthouse a framed cottage owner Mrs Rebecca Baldwin aged widow killed three intruders who had earlier asked her to change ten dollars. She fought with an ax and a knife after throwing gold into a fire. The intruders are identified as the same tramps and a vigilance committee forms to capture the suspected killer.
The act forbids further retirement of US legal tender notes by the Treasury Secretary or officers under him. Redeemed notes must not be cancelled but re issued and kept in circulation. Mutliated notes may be cancelled and replaced with other notes of the same denomination. All conflicting acts are repealed.
