Michael R. Taulbee 23 of New Boston died fatally in a truck motorcycle crash on Dogwood Ridge Rd near Rich Oil Station. Funeral services 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harrison Funeral Home Wheelersburg. Taulbee, a Norfolk and Western brakeman, was married and a United Transportation Union member. He was a Portsmouth native.
The race features Rep. James Stanton and former Sen. Howard Metzenbaum battling for recognition in northeast Ohio. Both campaigned across Cleveland and Youngstown as they vie for the Democratic nomination to face Sen. Robert Taft Jr. in November.
