Two Killed In Brown County Accidents
In Brown County two men died in separate crashes. Albert D. Jones, 43, of Russellville Route 1, died at Brown County Hospital after his car was struck by a Norfolk and Western passenger train at Sexton Crossing. John Ray Caudill, 22, of Cranston Kentucky, fatally injured when his track collided with a tractor trailer on Route 52 near Ripley. Jones was a World War II veteran. Highway patrol noted the fatal auto train wreck occurred three miles south of Macon near Adams County line.

Former Portsmouth man dies in Logan County crash
Daniel E. Switalski a 29 year old Springfield native and former Schaefer supermarket manager was killed in a two car collision near West Liberty Logan County. His car hit Edna Willitts 50 of West Liberty who was badly injured. Switalski died of a broken neck at the scene. Willitts was taken to Bellefontaine hospital with concussion and rib fractures. Switalski was a St Mary High School graduate and had worked in county records office in 1997. He was born August 27 1916 and survived by a wife four children and several siblings.
