Mrs Abigail Mughes Morford died at her daughter Mrs Charles Ribble’s home after a week of infirmities. Born August 9, 1525 in Gallia County she was widow of Thomas Morford and mother of one survivor Mrs Ribble. Funeral Friday at 2 with several ministers officiating and burial in Greenlawn Cemetery. Also listed are the deaths of Wesley Reilly age 18 from North Waller Street, Reuben Alumway in Kansas, Mrs Cora Mosteman Henderson in Indianapolis, Mrs Lulu Moore Ward in Kansas City, and several other local family notices with funeral details and survivors.

In Sheridan last night a 12 year old boy, son of Charles Gould, was gagged and tied by a stranger as he fetched water. The assailant, suspected to be a hobo who rode off a freight train, fled after a neighbor boy cried out. Sheriff Sloan and Deputy Huntclinson searched the premises but no clue was found. The Goulds are prominent residents of South Point.
Mrs Mary Barklow files for divorce and temporary alimony in common pleas court represented by Harry Ball. She accuses Albert Barklow of abuse infidelity and obscene conduct and asks custody and alimony while restraining him from disposing of property on Red View Avenue and limiting contact during suit.
Carl Greenslate, employed by C. & C., was fatally hurt after stepping into oncoming passenger train No. Goes while walking along C. & Q. tracks near Greenup Kentucky. He was hospitalized unconscious with a broken arm and head and back injuries. His father arrived to assist as witnesses say Greenslate moved aside for one train but walked into the path of the second.
W R Hudson and A A Fox of the C&O, visiting from Covington, Ky, discussed a proposed Sciotoville bridge over the Ohio River as the likely route, citing cost savings that favor Sciotoville over Portsmouth. Iliam Thompson, Madison Township, entered the race for state representative, aiming for the Republican nomination after years as a schoolteacher and local political follower.

Mrs. Wright, 70, suffered a stroke Thursday brightening the local health outlook and remains seriously affected on the left side since moving from Adams County.
