President Truman arrived in Omaha on a cross country speaking tour promoting seven goals of abundance. He addressed 22 000 in Chicago and spoke of housing health social security and full rights of citizenship while urging support for November votes.
Common Pleas Judge Ver non Smith said applicants for the May grand jury will be screened to ensure motives are proper and not political. The May term will report at 9 am in common pleas court with talesmen chosen carefully to avoid ax grinders as jurors.
