Six year old Dorothy Poole died in a Delaware hospital after a kitchen accident while attempting to cook pancakes for her younger brother. She sustained severe burns two days earlier and passed away yesterday.
Seven persons sustained injuries in separate automobile crashes in Scioto county on Thursday. Mrs. C Pollock 42 visiting her sister Mrs. Charles Warnock at 1625 Mound street was bruised in a collision at Grant street and Grandview avenue. Mrs Warnock driving south on Grandview and Harry Salt of Marion in a westbound truck collided causing the Warnock car to overturn on its side, according to Traffic Patrolman John Swearingen.
Police observed the Canton ne Co plant after a disturbance in which hundreds of workers and supporters hurled eggs and stones at leaving employees. The plant, closed since April 30 due to a strike, resumed operations yesterday.
Paris June 5 The new Socialist premier Leon Blum appealed to 500000 striking workers to avoid disorder and seek reforms by law promising a 40 hour week and collective contracts plus paid vacations. He warned enemies of the Popular Front and pledged calm leadership as strikes spread to Paris slaughterhouses and other industries across France Spain and Belgium with large but unconfirmed totals.
London June 5 Sir Samuel Hoare returned to the British cabinet with the post of first lord of the admiralty succeeding Lord Mansell who resigned. Hoare, once foreign secretary, had been ousted last December over a plan with Pierre Laval on appeasing Italy regarding Ethiopia.
