Youth Corps grants aid two counties in Ohio region
Adams and Brown counties receive 65 150 dollars to fund an eleven week Neighborhood Youth Corps program for 134 youths. John Lewis, program director, says participants from secondary schools work at twelve sites within their districts earning about 20 dollars a week for up to three hours daily. Sites include Manchester and West Union high schools in Adams and Camp Tarhe in Jefferson district with Brown County locations in Fayelleville Perry and Hamtric.

WAVERLY OHIO Everett Hall 5 of Beaver veteran teacher and former high school coach selected as director of Pike County Neighborhood Youth Corps program this summer. Funds for work training to provide summer employment for 40 area youths requested through the U S Department of Labor and the Office of Economic Opportunity. The 10 week project begins about June 12 with youths averaging 30 hours weekly at $1.25 per hour. Hall has 33 years teaching 23 years coaching and 19 years with Beaver and Eastern Schools. A former two term mayor of Beaver he sits on the village council.
