An 1810 to 1808 era tale claims a prodigious hollow tree stood along a river, measured around 14 feet diameter and 91 feet tall. Thomas Dugan, a stock breeder, felled it after two bulls fought inside the trunk, killing one and prompting removal amid concerns for livestock health and cholera fears.

John Marks, age 65, died at his daughter Mrs. Tazelett s home in New Boston on Monday morning. He leaves two sons in Proctorsville and one in New Boston, with whom he made his home. Remains were taken to Proctorsville for burial. One name omitted. In a Times school board report, Miss Loraine Sehliteher’s name as second grade teacher was accidentally omitted.

Rose Mershon was found operating Mershon's Market Street saloon after an ordinance violation. She pleaded guilty and was fined $25 plus costs and ordered to report to Mayor Milstead.

Albert Pressler of Fisher Strgiph's drug store won a prize after receiving a letter this morning. A contest offered prizes for guessing attendance at a world’s date on May 11. The second prize included $33,835 and one third the rail fare to St Louis.
Mrs Hattie Deacon of West Sras and street was called to Pond Run Tuesday by the serious illness of her sister Mrs Homer Grim.
